Bee and Chip

We adopted Chip in May 2018 so our Boxer Sophie could have a sibling. I volunteered at Sweet Paws rescue and I knew from the beginning that we wanted to adopt a Sweet Paws dog. My husband wanted a big boy dog to hang with and while I didn’t really care about the size, it just had to be the right fit!

We put our application in for Chip (formerly Wally) but there was a long list of applicants ahead of us. All of our friends were rooting for us, and one day we got a call that all the other applicants had fallen through due to one reason or another. One hour later we were on our way to meet him in person and that was it, we brought him home! It was the best decision ever. Chip is loving, goofy, snuggly and all around the perfect dog. He loves everyone he meets: dogs, cats and kids (they are his favorite!) He is my Chipperoni, the light of our lives.

In November, our dog Sophie unexpectedly passed away. All of us were heartbroken, especially  Chip. We thought that we could keep him busy and happy with just us around but even with three days of daycare a week, it wasn’t working. He was just so sad and lonely. We made the decision to adopt another dog and found the perfect fit for our family at the end of March 2019. Bee (formerly Demi) joined our family and turned our lives upside down. She had our boys twisted around her little paw in a heartbeat, Dan even built a fence for her! Bee is Chip's little shadow, they really compliment each other perfectly- they are two peas in a pod! Both dogs had been rescued after having started their lives by getting dumped and being terrified of everything. With love and patience they overcame all of that and now they’re just happy dogs who make our family complete!!!
