After nearly 15 years of dedicated service, Sweet Paws Rescue (SPR) is embarking on an exciting new chapter in its mission to provide love and care for rescued animals. SPR has em”bark”ed on its first-ever capital campaign, “A Forever Home for Sweet Paws Rescue: Our Paw Print Is Growing,” which aims to purchase a 69-acre farm in Bradford, Massachusetts. This expansion will help increase its capacity to serve the community and the animals in need, while also preserving open space. The projected move to the new location is scheduled for Summer 2025. The full cost of the project is estimated at $4.5 million and will be completed in three phases.

 
 
 

Since our inception in 2011, Sweet Paws Rescue is proud to have operated as a debt-free organization. As we have continued to meet the demands of a growing population of unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals, it became clear it was time to adjust our “forever home” to meet our mission. We have always been committed to rescuing dogs and cats in need, while simultaneously focusing on the future—finding innovative ways to improve animal rescue and raise awareness about humane education in our community. This model will ensure that future generations have access to the lessons of empathy, respect, and compassion for animal welfare and environmental preservation.

For nearly 14 years, we have been a beacon of hope for unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals. Our reach and scope of service have grown, but our aging facilities have struggled to keep pace. To make matters more pressing, the facility we currently rent is now on the market, and we will be forced to vacate by May 2025.

It’s time for change.

As we continue to serve a growing population of animals in need, the moment has arrived to secure a "forever home" that will allow us to expand and improve our mission. That’s why, after years of hard work and dedication, we are launching our first-ever capital campaign. This is our chance to build a sanctuary that will not only serve the animals we rescue today but ensure we can meet the needs of those in the future.

With your support, we will transform this 69-acre farm into a safe haven. This expanded facility will allow us to:

  • Rescue more animals, providing them with a place to heal, thrive, and find their forever homes.

  • Offer supplementary veterinary care and training services.

  • Create youth education programs to teach the next generation about compassion and responsibility.

  • Partner with local animal control officers to ensure the safety of all animals in our community.

  • Provide much-needed off-leash space for rescued animals and members of the surrounding communities.

  • Plans are underway to expand our Sweet Paws Rescue pawprint, beginning with the purchase of a 69-acre farm in Bradford, MA! The plans for this property include a brand new rescue facility, a humane education center, supplemental vetting facilities, and off-leash walking trails for the community.

  • We have outgrown our current rented facility in Groveland. We have expanded, and our current facilities have struggled to keep pace. As we continue to meet the demands of a growing population of unwanted, neglected, and victimized animals, it's time to adjust our “forever home” to meet our mission. The farm will provide us with the facilities and physical space to serve the many animals we rescue, and the resources to perform supplemental in-house veterinary care. Additionally, “Sweet Paws Rescue at the Farm” will offer education programs, assist local animal control officers, and provide off-leash space for our animals and members of our surrounding communities.

    This initiative will allow Sweet Paws Rescue to establish a legacy to ensure that our rescue and humane education efforts continue through future generations.

  • A 69-acre farm property located in Bradford, MA.

  • Sweet Paws Rescue has entered into a Purchase & Sale Agreement to take ownership of the property in Summer 2025. Phase 1 of our 3-phase initiative is underway and will include the land purchase and construction of our new animal operations facility.

  • By working alongside volunteers, experienced campaign strategists, peer partnerships, and through generous donor gifts and pledges, we believe we will reach our goals and attain Phases 1, 2 & 3 of our capital project, while remaining a debt-free organization.

  • Our total projected costs are approximately $4.5 million.

  • Since 2017 Sweet Paws Rescue has rescued more than dogs. We love cats! Phase 2 includes outfitting “Casa de Cats,” a dedicated, safe living space for cats awaiting adoption, providing them with the comfort and security they need as they wait for their new homes.
