Volunteer Program
We are a volunteer-powered organization and proud of it! Volunteers coordinate almost every aspect of our operations, from taking care of animals at our isolation facility and processing adoption applications to putting on fabulous events and managing social media.
Our volunteers’ time is one of the most important donations that we receive. We are much more than just a group of individuals working towards the common goal of saving dogs and cats we are a community united by a common goal to be agents of change- a voice for the voiceless- by educating those around us and fiercely advocating for the betterment of animal welfare both in Massachusetts and in the states of Mississippi and Alabama where our Southern rescue team is based.
The work of our volunteers can be physically demanding, dirty, and sometimes even a bit sad, but the compensation with puppy kisses, kitty snuggles, and knowing that you have helped to save the life of an animal is the most rewarding benefits package you will ever find!
SPR Facility Volunteer
Our facility volunteers care for our dogs and cats during their mandatory 48-hour quarantine (per Massachusetts Department of Agriculture regulations) upon their arrival to our Groveland, Massachusetts isolation facility. The primary duty of the facility volunteer is to provide care and comfort to our VIP guests during their stay with us! Other common tasks asked of our facility volunteers include cleaning, laundry, organizing and pre/post transport setup/breakdown
Photographers
Capturing our animals in their best light increases interest and applications, thus decreasing the time they wait for a forever home. If you are a professional photographer who is interested in taking photos at our Groveland facility and/or at the homes of our fosters, please fill out an application to join our team!
Aside from the volunteer opportunities described above, we do have several additional volunteer areas such as application processing, events, marketing, fundraising and advocacy that require you to have a working knowledge of our mission and processes. This experience is obtained by first working closely alongside us as a facility volunteer. We love volunteers that want to grow along with us and are continually cultivating our team from within!
Ready to get started? We can’t wait to have you!
