Foster ❤️

Foster came into our family as our 17th foster dog when he was about one and half years old and 55lbs.  I took him home after an adoption event because his first foster who had him for a couple days could not take Foster back as other members of their family did not want a Pitbull in their house.  Foster was a hot mess, but he  was as sweet as can be.   We assume he never lived in a home or interacted with a family before.  We knew he needed a lot of work to become adoptable because he was basically a giant puppy in a fine china shop.  We knew he just needed some time, structure, routine, and some basic training to get him ready to be adopted.

After about a month he was doing great and ready to get adopted.  He had a few meet and greets with potential adopters but they just weren’t the right fit.  He needed an experienced adopter who would commit to continue with his training to make him the best he can be.  After three months, I broke down in tears, I could not bear to think of him leaving our family, so we decided to adopt him.  Fosty has been with us for a year and half, he is a completely different dog now.  He is a funny, sweet, silly, ball of energy that is always up for an adventure, frisbee, car ride or his favorite, playing with his fur brother, Murphy, in the yard.  I truly believe Dogs pick their people.  Foster picked us that day in April and I’m so happy he did.
