Maxwell and Raynor

I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let my sweet, sweet Buddy cross the rainbow bridge. He was only eight years old and had never recovered from two surgeries. I felt so guilty that I could have done more, so I started volunteering at Sweet Paws Rescue as a way to give back. I am so glad I did!! I jumped in with two feet and never looked back. I am very proud to be a part of this amazing organization and humbled by the tireless efforts of the people who are RESCUE.

I knew I wanted to adopt a second dog. My 12 year old lab needed a friend to spice up her lazy life. I waited through many transports of southern dogs until Maxwell (formerly Ranger) found me. He just wanted to be with me and I didn't want to leave him. He went to foster for one day- “shortest foster ever” according to his foster parents. He was very close to being a foster fail. I raced to a Riverwalk Brewing event and scooped him up. I learned that not much was known of his life before other than being abandoned. One year later, he rules the house. He is the most stubborn dog I have ever known and I love him like crazy. He filled a hole in my heart.

Shortly after, my daughter adopted Raynor (formerly Raider) from a Sweet Paws event at Newburyport Brewery. She is also head over heels for her sweet boy. Always adopt and when you do... make sure it's at a brewery!! Thank you, Sweet Paws, for my pup and grandpup. Without you we wouldn't have these babies that just make every day better.
