Rosie and Brady
Where do I begin?
We had the sweetest, kindest and most loving dog-Scooter. He was truly one of a kind! When Scooter was 9 years old, he became sick and after much medical care, he passed away. We were heartbroken and devastated. I told my husband that if I ever spoke of getting another dog- break my arms and legs and remind me that after having nine dogs over the years, I didn't want to go through the sadness of losing another pet.
I decided to volunteer at Sweet Paws Rescue. It would give me time with four legged furry friends and I could offer them love and kindness and whatever else they needed! Yeah- right. Little Rosie was found out in the middle of a farmer's field in Mississippi and rescued by Jeanette (thank goodness) who cared for and fostered Rosie with lots of love and attention. When Rosie went in to be spayed, they were surprised to find she was pregnant! Jeanette brought Rosie home and several hours later Rosie gave birth to one pup! A little boy, Brady. Not wanting to separate Momma and her baby, they were transported together once Brady was 6 weeks old.
In the meantime, I was very happy volunteering and making new friends at Sweet Paws when I heard the story of Rosie and her baby boy Brady. I knew I was ready to try and be considered to adopt both Momma and baby. I filled out my application for adoption and wondered how I was going to tell my husband what I was doing! We both fell in love.
Two years later, Rosie is six years old and about 11 pounds and her baby Brady is two years old and about 16 pounds! We got to adopt two of the sweetest most loveable little dogs that have not only brought joy and laughter back into our home, but they also keep me active by walking several miles a day. They are the greatest company and we are blessed.Thank you all at Sweet Paws for picking us as Rosie and Brady's family!
